Behaving like a Gentlemen in DRG

I play DRG, it’s a fun game you should try it out…
DRG is a co-op experience, with a voice chat and a text chat, but if you play a bit you’ll soon come to realize that nobody almost uses them… And despite the lack of direct communication everything goes smoothly in a well coordinated team effort, how ? Everyone is nice and polite, and follows some ancient rules that where learned through sheer observation. This rules aren’t written anywhere, and this won’t change, this is not a rule-set it’s a guide on what to do to appear a respectful dwarf and not look like a complete green beard.

Stop Being Sorry

You need not apologize for dying, dying is pretty usual in this game and you shouldn’t feel ashamed of it.
Nobody is gonna blame you for it, and everyone is gonna try his best to get you back on your feet asap.

Host ?

In DRG you join games. But these games aren’t on ghost ship games machine, they are on other player machines, when you join a game, someone (the one with the crown) is accepting you as a team member, think of it as a team leader, he can be the least performing, he is on that mission, the guy in charge, and thus : you should do as he says.
You may wander why this need to be said what does he needs to say ? Well in higher difficulties, sometime you need to decide weather to do an event or not, etc in these occasions, try to respect what he ask, even if it means mining gold.

Start when Everyone is Ready

You may have also found out that the game is filled with big, bouncy, bumpy red buttons. These buttons start important phases of the mission, make sure everyone is ready before pressing it.
Buttons aren’t the only event starters, be aware of anything that ask you to hold E, dreadnought eggs, BET-C, prospector and korlocks.

Manifest that You Are Ready

This is the famous « r » you’ve probably seen in chat, whenever ready for a phase just say it so everyone knows they can count on you. It is also common to ping a dreadnought eggs to signify your readiness.

Ping Pong

Your laser pointer is a fantastic communication tool, on top of displaying an outline for your teammates it’ll make you scream a dumb voice line about the thing you pinged. Use it often, for red sugar stationary enemies, LEECHES and FLOOR LEECHES, BET-C, nitra…
You little pointer is going on anything dangerous or precious that your team might have missed.
And the reciprocal is true, look out for pings, try to keep an ear for those funny voice lines.

Call out the Leech

If you died to a leech, we have all been there before, it’s not the end if the world, now the real risk is that every dwarf will come to try to save you and get grabbed by the same one. Call out the leech by saying « leech » and everything will be alright.

Rock and Stone

Rock and stone whenever you can, it make everyone smile and will eras all your mistakes. You should now be a very fine dwarf, capable of remaining a gentleman in every circumstances, but don’t forget, these are not rules, some people might have other ways of doing, stay alert, stay open, have fun and Rock and Stone.
